The local is named after sister Marie Cederschiöld, Ersta dakonis first manager. She studied amoung other things health care and mangement at a deacon institution in Germany. She was the one who created "Svenska diakoniss-Sällskapet" after the german model, who later on founded Sweden's first nursing school.
